Visiting Cape at Fellside CHP Plant
Our director Steve Warren made a trip up north through the breathtaking countryside of the Lake District to meet up with Cape employees based at the Fellside CHP Plant in Whitehaven.
A beautifully warm and sunny 4.5 hour drive turned into a 9.5 hour expedition via the outskirts of such notable places as Stoke On Trent, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Blackburn and Blackpool! Sat Nav, eh… who’d use ’em?!
Steve’s reward on hitting the Lake District, as you can see, was a glorious sunset over those peaks and mountains.
Fellside CHP plant provides critical process steam to the adjacent Sellafield nuclear reprocessing facility and exports electricity to Sellafield and onto the National Grid. It’s a big place and extremely busy. The intention was to meet up with supervisors and charge-hands to explain our service and what we can do for the men working for them. Of course meeting up with existing clients is always a bonus and Steve was able to do this too.
If you are based at this power plant and saw Steve or the van, we’d love to hear from you.
If you’re somewhere else, we’d be happy to come and visit you and your colleagues – let us know!
